About Odyssey House Louisiana
Odyssey House Louisiana is a nonprofit behavioral health provider in New Orleans, Louisiana. Voluntary or referred adults battling substance use disorders can access an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Although they don’t accept private insurance you can pay for treatment with Healthy Louisiana Medicaid plans. Even if you don’t have insurance you can still get the help you need at no cost to you.
Before participating in their intensive program you must complete their short term residential program at a different campus. Their IOP provides access to a sober living environment as you receive comprehensive care for three to six months. You’ll benefit from individual and group counseling, parenting classes, case management and life skills training.
What stands out most to me is their unique take on intensive outpatient programs. I think it's great that you can live among peers in recovery while on your journey. This feature offers an added element of peer support. Not only will you grow from getting to the root causes of addiction, but you’ll also benefit from building a solid sober network by connecting and learning from your peers.
Another standout feature I noticed is they help you secure employment and housing. Getting back on your feet after treatment can be challenging without support. They provide life and vocational skills training to set you up for success. You can explore different career interests and know that the tools you gain in treatment can benefit you in getting your life on track.
I also like that they offer parenting classes and childcare. They understand that family support is essential in recovery. Your kids will have a safe space for healing as you learn new skills to support them the best you can.
