About Martindale Clinic

The Martindale Clinic is part of the nonprofit Odyssey House in Salt Lake City, Utah. The clinic provides many forms of addiction and mental health care on an outpatient basis to clients 14 and older. Care services focus on direct treatment as well as management and preventive services for people in all stages of recovery or addiction.

The most important thing I want to note about this clinic is that they are nonjudgmental. What this means is they provide care and support for those who are still in addiction with services that promote health and safety including needle exchanges.

Accepted insurances include Medicaid and a number of commercial plans.

Greater Control Over Your Recovery

The clinic isn't just about integrated and primary care (though those are valuable tools in recovery, too). They provide medication management services that extend to any and all of your prescribed meds and not just those you get from this location.

Their approach combines monitoring with careful measurement and dispersal to avoid side effects. Consider it a second set of hands helping your prescribers ensure everything about your medications is square for optimal effect.

Specialty Care for Hep C and STDs

Those with drug or alcohol addiction are at a higher risk for certain diseases including hepatitis C. The stigma already associated with these illnesses can be bad enough but feelings of shame are compounded when addiction is part of the mix.

You don't let those negative feelings get in the way of treatment. The clinic supports clients living with hepatitis C or STDs through private and empathetic treatment and care services. I think the nonjudgmental approach is important because it treats everyone as equals regardless of addiction. I recommend seeking out this welcoming attitude in any treatment or support program you're considering.
