About Martindale Clinic

Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Odyssey House is a nonprofit mental health and addiction treatment center providing care for clients of all ages. Their services are free for qualifying low-income Salt Lake City residents. They’re also in network with a range of insurance options and accept Utah Medicaid, Nevada Medicaid for youth only and Utah ACO Medicaid. Their cash rates are affordable, with sliding scale rates available.

Opened in 1971, this impressive organization has become one of the largest and most comprehensive addiction treatment programs in Utah. It prides itself on its holistic approach to care.

The most intensive level of care available here is residential addiction treatment. This is available to adults, teens and parents with young children. Standard adult inpatient treatment helps residents develop a healthy routine by encouraging regular activities like cooking, laundry and cleaning. Rest assured, though, it’s not all about chores. Residents can look forward to sober recreational activities and cultural events, too. Peer support is also provided, as well as educational initiatives that allow residents to get their GED and receive vocational services in partnership with Salt Lake City School District.

The parents and children program offers single moms and dads a chance to recover in residential care while their kids attend the center’s Children’s Services daycare. This specialized daycare is available to kids of any age, even newborns! School-age kids attend the local elementary school and benefit from daycare services in the afternoon. Licensed staff help them heal from attachment and trauma issues while engaging them in fun activities. Meanwhile, parents engage in individual, group and family therapy as well as educational and vocational prep, life skills sessions and medical services. This is the only residential addiction treatment program in Utah serving dads and their kids and is a 31-time Best of State winner.

Outpatient, aftercare, sober living, and criminal justice programs are also available here. These offer transitional and specialized treatment steps for clients committed to their recovery path.
