About Oaks Integrated Care

Oaks Integrated Care is a nonprofit, private organization offering treatment for clients with substance use disorder (SUD) and co-occurring mental health issues. They also offer treatment services for clients with developmental disabilities. The organization accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, or self payment.

They have an income based sliding fee scale for uninsured clients, and they also have block grants and SAMHSA funding. The facility provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) for clients for ambulatory detoxification. Oaks Integrated Care is near historic downtown and has many quaint shops and restaurants.

Straight to Treatment Program

I like the center’s unique Straight… to Treatment Program. The program is offered in partnership with the prosecutor’s office and the police department. If you walk into the police department and turn in your drugs and ask for help with an addiction, they’ll provide treatment.

You’ll be treated compassionately and with respect, and you’ll be given an assessment so you can get linked to the right SUD treatment program. The organization will coordinate your follow up care and ensure referrals to additional resources to support you in your recovery efforts.

Support Teams for Addiction Recovery (STAR)

Another great program I see offered here is the STAR program. Many individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) have concurrent debilitating issues. These may be legal, educational, transportation or health related.

The STAR program assists clients with all of these issues. You can also be linked to medication assisted treatment. The goal is to reduce risks, such as recurring opioid related episodes and overdose.

The staff at this treatment center works with each individual to encourage engagement in the recovery process. They have outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment programs that include ambulatory detoxification and therapy for co-occurring mental health disorders. One reviewer mentioned they’d been going to this facility for four years and have been clean the whole time.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy.
