About Oahu First Circuit Drug Court
The Oahu First Circuit Drug Court in Honolulu, Hawaii, provides a variety of court diversion programs for adults, youth, families and veterans. These programs are designed to provide non violent offenders an alternative to jail time and give them the treatment they need to avoid reoffense. I’ve found that treatment through the various Drug Courts is not covered by insurance, but there are generally affordable out of pocket fees to cover the services.
Three Types of Drug Court in Honolulu
I was surprised that there are actually three different drug courts that help the First Circuit provide targeted services for different populations. The adult drug court is a focused 18 month program that provides addiction treatment and life skills classes to help people turn their lives around. There is also a family drug court that helps parents break free from addiction by providing substance use treatment and parenting classes to improve the family’s situation.
Finally, the juvenile drug court addresses the needs of youth by providing age appropriate and gender specific interventions and treatment for substance use. They also provide support for families.

Because women often abuse substances for different reasons than men, women’s rehab in Hawaii provides treatment that is targeted for women. Programs focus on specific trauma, stigma, bias, and gender-role issues that can affect substance use disorders among women.Teen & Adolescent Program
