Northwood’s Ohio County clinic in Wheeling, West Virginia, is their largest clinical facility. Most patients begin with an intake assessment. At this time or later you may also undergo a psychiatric and psychological evaluation. New clients might be eligible for a walk-in initial evaluation appointment.

Their crisis stabilization units are voluntary treatment programs for adults. The goal of your stay is to get you stabilized so that you can avoid an inpatient hospital stay. You’ll have access to intensive group and individual therapy, daily psychiatric evaluations, and careful monitoring.

Your daily essentials like food and personal hygiene items are provided. Someone is available 24/7 to talk to you by phone at Northwood’s crisis units.

Their IOP is for adults with moderate to severe symptoms who need a higher structure than in a less intensive outpatient program. You’ll live at home and attend treatment several times a week. Their IOP is for both mental health or substance use disorders as well as for those who are dealing with both.

A part of your IOP may include medication assisted treatment (MAT). Prescriptions like Suboxone and Vivitrol are paired with therapy to treat heroin or other opioid addiction.
