Northland Counseling Center International Falls provides outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services to adults and adolescents in Koochiching County and the surrounding area. The center offers Rule 25 assessments, individual and group counseling, peer recovery support, and specialized programming including the Matrix Model and gambling treatment. Northland Counseling delivers evidence-based, integrated care that supports lasting recovery through structured programming and individualized support.

Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment

Northland Counseling's core focus is outpatient addiction treatment, beginning with comprehensive Rule 25 assessments and continuing through individual and group counseling. I've found that the center integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to address substance use disorders in adults and adolescents.

Treatment sessions combine individual counseling with group therapy on a variety of topics tailored to client needs. The center also offers the Matrix Model, a 16-week structured program that includes group therapy, individual counseling, family education and monitoring. I've found that the clients benefit from peer recovery support services and referrals to medication services and community partners, ensuring comprehensive care that addresses both immediate symptoms and long-term recovery goals.

Integrated Mental Health and Family Support

In addition to addiction treatment, Northland Counseling provides mental health services for depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma and relationship concerns. The center offers individual, couples, and family therapy, as well as Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) to support loved ones in the recovery process.
