In a charming and historic red brick building located in East Boston, Massachusetts is the residential recovery facility, Meridian House. Meridian House operates under the greater community program, North Suffolk Mental Health Association.
This association is dedicated to helping youths, adults, and families throughout the area get access to quality care that can help them navigate their mental health or substance use struggles. They also have dedicated services to individuals with physical or intellectual disabilities, those who are deaf/hard of hearing, and those who need Spanish services. Its convenient location also makes it easy to move around the city if you work here or need to go shopping or want to engage in community events.
Residents who have lived in Meridian House say that they appreciate the inviting and caring staff here. The staff embodies the vision and mission of this recovery program which is to provide judgment-free, equitable, and accessible care to everyone they serve.
They even have adaptive features to ensure the safety of all clients, including a bed shaker fire alarm. The staff are trained in American Sign Language (ASL) and also offer translation services.
As they’re part of the North Suffolk Mental Health Association, you’ll also have access to a variety of community resources that can support you. For example, through Project NORTH, you can get court based support if you or your family is involved in the legal system.
Another way they help reach marginalized individuals is through their Community Treatment Team. This team specializes in providing intensive wraparound community services to young adults who are on the autism spectrum and are experiencing a serious mental health struggle.
