About Norcap Lodge

Norcap Lodge was located in Foxborough, Massachusetts. They offered Level 3.7 inpatient care for those with alcohol and drug dependencies. They provided medically supervised detox and an intensive outpatient (IOP) program. Medicaid and Medicare were also accepted. However, due to a decline in admissions, Norcap Lodge closed its doors in 2021.

They weren’t just another detox center, either. They tailored their programs to the specific needs of their patients to ensure those dealing with the complexities of withdrawal had the medical attention they needed.

Shifting to Taunton’s High-Intensity Inpatient and IOP Programs

While Norcap Lodge may be closed, treatment options in the area haven’t disappeared. In response to the need for more intensive care, Steward Health Care opened a high-intensity inpatient unit with an IOP program at Morton Hospital in Taunton. I love that these new services provide an even higher level of care for those facing severe substance use disorders, with a heavy focus on alcohol addiction. From my experience in the addiction sphere, alcohol addiction tends to get medically overlooked a lot, so I’m happy that this program is offering specialized medical oversight.
