Frontline Care Center in Round Lake, Illinois is a partner of Nicasa Behavioral Health Services. They are a community based outpatient mental health site that offers screenings, therapy, and group counseling that is specifically for frontline workers. They strive to overcome public stigmas that sometimes lead to addiction or self harm by offering a loving, non judgmental wellness environment.

They are accredited by CARF and are a member of United Way of Lake County and NCPG. The center accepts Medicaid and several other major insurance providers. You are welcome to attend in uniform with your duty belt if desired.

I think it’s helpful that any service offered here can be attended in person at the center or online via telehealth. Telehealth should be requested during admission so that the appropriate counselor can be assigned to you.

Specialized Services for the Unique Needs of Frontline Workers

The center accepts current and former first responders, veterans, active duty military, reservists, and families of frontline service workers. This includes police officers, 911 telecommunicators, fire fighters, emergency medical service members, and retired civil service members.

This specialization allows the team here to address issues and challenges that are specific to frontline jobs. That can include the traumas and difficult experiences that might lead to addiction, the stigmas and difficulties associated with your addiction coming to light, and ways to cope with continued stress on the job.

Treatments for Difficulties Beyond Addiction

Disorders treated here include substance use and trauma as well as problem gambling, anxiety, depression, and mind imbalances. Scenarios such as grief and loss, life transitions, parenting issues, relationship and family issues, and work and career issues are also treated.

I think it’s valuable that the center uses several therapies such as trauma therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, pulsed electromagnetic field sessions, and biosound therapy. You can be treated individually or in a group of your peers who have had similar experiences.

Crisis interventions are offered in the event of an emergency. Infrared sauna treatment will relieve your stress and cause you to relax.

Keeping Your Treatment Discreet

The center is prohibited by law to disclose that you are a patient receiving services to your employer or anyone else. Your treatment will be completely confidential. According to the FOID Act, outpatient therapy is not reported to the DHS Mental Health Reporting System.
