About NFI – Milestone Emergency Residence
If you have a teenager who’s struggling with addiction or another behavioral health concern and you feel like home just doesn’t have the structure or safety they need right now, NFI’s Milestone Emergency residents in Wilmington, Massachusetts can serve as a reset point.
This is a short-term residential program for youth ages 12 to 18. It’s designed for teens who are dealing with serious emotional challenges, substance use concerns, learning differences or even a mix of mental health challenges.
What immediately stands out to me is that the environment looks and feels like a house rather than a hospital. Teens have their own rooms and their own routines here to practice accountability and responsibility.
Treatment Approach Helps Teens Feel Safe
Milestone Emergency Residence uses the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model for recovery. It focuses on these three things teens often lose when their world feels chaotic.
I appreciate that the team begins with an assessment, a lot of listening and a personalized plan. Teens get individual therapy, family work when possible and group sessions with other teens. The clinicians here are master-level experts who understand trauma, self-harm patterns, dissociation and all of the layers that can come with complex emotional struggles.
