Kentucky Nonprofit Raises $15M for Affordable Rehab

If cost is the thing standing between you and treatment, news from Kentucky is a reminder that affordable and even free addiction recovery exists, and that communities are investing in it.

A Paducah nonprofit just announced a major fundraising milestone that will expand low-cost rehabs and recovery housing in the region.

A Kentucky Nonprofit Raises Over 15 Million Dollars

Lifeline Recovery Center announced at its 22nd annual banquet that its comprehensive campaign raised more than $15 million supporting addiction recovery programs and facilities.

Over 450 households, 120 businesses and 50 churches contributed to the campaign, and the banquet itself raised an additional $100,000 to provide affordable treatment options.

Community-funded programs like this one matter because they are often where uninsured, underinsured, and low-income people can actually access care.

Executive Director and program graduate Ashley Miller framed the night around outcomes rather than dollars, saying it was about lives being changed, families being restored and hope being renewed.

What the Expansion Adds

The money is funding real capacity. In 2022, the nonprofit opened a 45-acre campus for men in Ballard County, and its new 45-acre women’s campus is set to open in the fall.

According to the organization, the campaign made both campuses possible without debt, along with additional staff and a $3 million endowment for long-term sustainability.

Debt-free expansion and an endowment are signs a program intends to keep serving people for the long haul, not just this year.

The organization is also building out the recovery continuum, with plans to develop the site of the prior men’s campus into a long-term sober living facility that will offer family counseling and other outpatient services.

Who Programs Like This Help

Capacity has grown sharply. Miller noted that when she became executive director in 2020, the program served 65 people with a staff of 12, and today serves 130 people with 55 staff, a number expected to climb to 190 served daily once the new campus opens.

In 2026, the program celebrated its largest graduating class, with 60 men and women completing the residential program, each leaving with employment lined up.

How to Access Free or Low-Cost Treatment

You do not need to wait for a fundraising milestone to find affordable care. Nonprofit and faith-based residential programs, sliding-scale clinics, and state-funded treatment exist in most regions.

Ask directly about scholarships, payment based on income, and whether a program accepts Medicaid insurance. If one program is full or not a fit, a good one will help you find another.
