In Delaware, the nonprofit behind Sober Fest has built much of that safety net itself. atTAcK addiction founded in 2013 owns three recovery residences. The organization also provides recovery housing, scholarships, offers free naloxone training and operates a resource center in Newark.
Delaware recorded 314 overdose deaths in 2025. That figure marked a 41% decline from the state’s 2022 peak. Demand for treatment housing and support services however has not declined at the same rate.
Free Rehabs in Delaware Featured at Sober Fest
The third annual Sober Fest takes place Saturday Sept. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hudson Fields in Milton. The free family friendly event brings together more than 30 recovery organizations and vendors. Attendees can find treatment information harm reduction resources and support services.
Live music runs throughout the afternoon. Nick Kashmanian performs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Girls Room follows from 1 to 3 p.m. A cornhole tournament sponsored by the Oxford Houses of Delaware will also take place.

For families navigating a loved one’s addiction events like Sober Fest serve a practical purpose that websites and hotlines cannot fully replicate. Attendees can walk up to a table ask a question face to face and leave with a concrete next step. That step might include a phone number a meeting time or a referral.
Community connection also plays an important role in sustained recovery. Formal treatment eventually ends but relationships and support networks can continue.
