Fourteen nonprofit organizations in Fort Wayne Indiana just received a combined $520,350 in opioid settlement funding.
Most of the services they provide cost the people they serve nothing. For anyone who assumes treatment is financially out of reach free rehabs in Fort Wayne and the services around them just became easier to access.
Free Rehabs in Fort Wayne Get Settlement Boost
Mayor Sharon Tucker announced the third round of opioid settlement recipients on Tuesday. The National Opioid Settlement Committee which Tucker created in 2025 recommended the grants.
The funding supports programs focused on treatment and recovery, pregnant and postpartum women, education, harm reduction, co-occurring conditions, justice involved youth, school based prevention and veterans.
Who Qualifies for Free and Low Cost Treatment
The funded programs serve people who may struggle to afford private care. That includes women leaving incarceration, pregnant women experiencing homelessness, justice involved, youth veterans and immigrant and refugee residents of Allen County.
Several awards focus on the period immediately after release from incarceration when overdose risk reaches its highest levels.
Whitington Homes and Services received $50,000 for employment and family reunification programs for justice involved adults. Redemption House received $50,000 for transitional living for women leaving incarceration or short term treatment for opioid use disorder.
Where the Funding Goes
The full list of awards includes $50,000 for Inspiration Ministries to support a 24-bed certified recovery residence for men. A Mother’s Hope received $40,000 for housing and recovery services for pregnant women. Healthier Moms and Babies received $40,000 for services through 18 months postpartum.
Freedom House, New Wave Wellness, Ivy Tech Foundation, Courageous Healing School Care Team and Parkview Hospital each received $32,500. Their programs cover recovery housing perinatal care and prevention programs that reach 1,000 children.
Smaller awards went to Amani Family Services for culturally responsive treatment. Building a Stronger Family received funding for youth prevention. One K9 Corp received support for a veteran led peer recovery initiative.
Since 2025, Fort Wayne has announced nearly $1.5 million in settlement investments across its first two rounds along with $40,000 in mini-grants. Settlement payments will continue through 2038.

People with Medicaid can ask about covered treatment. Those without insurance can contact funded nonprofits and ask about sliding scale programs or services with no fees.
