About The New Port Club
Newport Club is a nonprofit recovery center that serves as a transitional space for people in substance use disorder (SUD) recovery. It is located in Vero Beach, Florida. This is not a residence or a formal outpatient program. Instead, this facility serves as a host for peer support groups targeted towards people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.
Vero Beach is a popular destination in Florida that’s best known for its coastal beaches which can be an excellent form of relaxation. It’s located near plenty of local shops and restaurants, but is also within near distance to plenty of green spaces. This includes destinations such as Riverside Park and Indian River Lagoon.
A Welcoming Gathering Space
I found that Newport Club is a gathering space for people in recovery. This means that you can access a variety of peer support groups that can be a great complement to an aftercare or relapse prevention strategy that you devise with a case manager while completing outpatient treatment.
This location hosts not only Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous groups, but is also a host for 12 step meetings. The facility has multiple meeting rooms, a coffee bar, a lounge area, and a literature library where you can also purchase copies to take home with you. You can also access the free Wi-Fi and computers.
Support with Community Accessibility
While Newport Club is not a formal SUD treatment facility, I like that members here can help you connect with critical community resources. Likewise, this is a great location to meet other people in recovery which can serve as your accountability support network between meetings. This location also hosts several sober events to further help people make new recovery connections.
Because Newport Club is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, there are no associated fees with participating in programs here. However, donations are appreciated.
