About New Pathways Recovery and Wellness

New Pathways Recovery was an outpatient addiction treatment clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah. The clinic is now closed. They offered medication assisted treatment (MAT), individual and group therapy and some unique alternative treatment options for adults. The clinic accepted most insurance plans.

MAT for Opioid Use in Salt Lake City

The MAT program focused on those who had opioid use disorder. They used Suboxone, Naloxone and Sublocade. In addition to MAT, New Pathways had an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and general outpatient care that provided therapy.

I appreciate that their therapy would help determine the root causes of substance use and help you change patterns of behavior and correct unhelpful thinking. New Pathways had individual therapy and group classes.

Unique Alternative Treatment Approaches

In addition to evidence based treatment, I found that New Pathways Recovery had some interesting alternative medicine options, along with massage therapy. They used an infrared sauna and claimed it would help you detox by flushing toxins out of your body. There were multiple color settings on the sauna, and each one was supposed to deliver specific benefits.

New Pathways Recovery also had a Theta Chamber, which is a device that uses sound and light to create deep relaxation. It’s said to increase theta brainwave activity and improve creativity and focus. The theta brain state can also increase your suggestibility, which may make therapy easier.

Finally, they had a SOQI device that they said produced far infrared ray energy. They claimed this could help with detoxification as well as reduce pain, stiffness and swelling in the body.

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

Utah outpatient rehab allows you to remain at home during treatment. You’ll visit a counselor’s office or treatment center a couple of times per week for sessions. You’ll also attend 12-step group meetings. This support will provide accountability and help you continue to develop strategies to prevent relapse.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

If you meet the criteria for both substance abuse disorder and a mental health disorder, this is called dual diagnosis. For the best recovery outcomes, you need dual diagnosis treatment in Utah. This type of treatment involves specialists in both fields, to address all your recovery needs.

Aftercare & Alumni Program

For successful long-term recovery, consider staying actively engaged in Utah aftercare rehab for at least a year. During this initial time after treatment, you’ll face many challenges and temptations. Aftercare gives you the resources and support you need to maintain sobriety.
