About Phillip house

New Hope Phillip House is a drug and alcohol rehab halfway house located in Long Branch, New Jersey. They house men recovering from substance use disorders. They also treat people who’re battling mental illnesses and drugs at the same time.

They take private insurance and self-pay. If you do not have insurance or are unable to pay, you may qualify for a grant.

A Personalized Company History

I think the history of the place is sad and interesting. The facility's namesake, Philip Sickles, was a surfer and heroin addict who took his own life in 1981. His father opened the facility to honor Philip and his two siblings, who also had drug-related deaths. I love how the house continues to honor the memory of the entire Sickles family.

Admissions

You can begin your intake online, or you can come into the office. You will answer questions about the types of drugs you take and the frequency with which you take them. You will also be asked about your medical history.

A psychotherapist will determine the level of care you need based on your assessment. New Hope operates detox and inpatient facilities in addition to halfway houses. If you qualify for the halfway house, you may have to put your name on a waiting list before admission.

Services the House Provides

Residents receive a bed and three meals a day. The staff focuses on teaching you how to live independently after recovery.

I like that clients are assigned daily chores; I think it builds responsibility. The house provides access to job training and job search assistance. If you take medication for withdrawals or a psychiatric condition, the staff can administer it to you.

The house provides group therapy and 12 Step meetings. They’ll assist you in finding permanent housing as well.
