About New Brunswick Counseling Center

New Brunswick Counseling Center provides substance use and mental health treatment for adults. You’ll find ‘em located out in New Brunswick, New Jersey. They have outpatient services (OP) available and offer numerous counseling approaches to provide customized treatment for each guest.

Your recovery starts with an assessment to help the team evaluate and determine your appropriate care plan based on your unique needs and recovery goals. If higher-intensity care is required, they can make referrals to other agencies.

Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available to help ease withdrawal symptoms and reduce drug cravings. They use FDA-approved medicines, like buprenorphine, methadone, and Vivitrol, to provide more comfort during treatment.

You’ll attend individual therapy sessions that include proven methods, like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI), to examine thought patterns and behaviors that may have contributed to substance use. These methods can also help you change these negative patterns to actions conducive to sobriety.

Group therapy is available with your peers in a comfortable environment. You can learn from others’ experiences and build a network that’ll stay with you even when you graduate from the program. That way, you’ll never have to face temptation alone.

Psychotherapy emphasizes the behaviors you need to work through, exploring difficult challenges while achieving your goals. It helps cope with life stressors and typical situations without relapsing.

Case management services are included in the program to advocate on your behalf. Care managers can connect you with outside agencies and resources necessary for ongoing recovery access. They can also help with healthcare and financial assistance, career development, and continued recovery support.

It’s a CARF-accredited facility. They accept some private health insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and self-pay.
