Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, and EMDR for Mental Health in Maitland

I think clients may like the alternative treatments offered at this clinic. For instance, biofeedback is a noninvasive treatment that uses heart rate variability and skin temperature to give immediate client feedback. The therapy is used to treat panic attacks, headaches, anxiety, and chronic pain as therapists guide a client to change emotions, behavior, and thinking patterns to enact positive changes in the body. Over time, the changes can become permanent.

Neurofeedback is used in children, teens, and adults who want alternatives to medication for depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, mood disorders, addiction, and other mental health issues. Treatment begins with a 90 minute quantitative brain map. The client then receives a customized plan that helps them transform unwanted behaviors by learning to control brain activity. Maitland’s Equine Assisted Psychotherapy for Addiction

One of my favorite therapies offered at this clinic is equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP). EAP uses horses to help engage clients who may have trouble with traditional talk therapy. During treatment, the client doesn’t ride a horse. Instead, they walk with an equine specialist and therapist while engaging with the horse. Activities may include grooming, ground exercises, and feeding the horse. Equine therapy builds trust, self-awareness, and communication skills to treat depression, addiction, and trauma.
