About NET Steps
NorthEast Treatment Centers (NET) began in 1970 and has since become one of the largest behavioral health and social services agencies in the greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. Their NET Steps program is a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program running out of an outpatient facility.
At NET, they offer both drug-free and medication-assisted treatments to help clients overcome addiction. Clients can get outpatient or intensive outpatient treatment and aftercare resources. They are proud of their unique peer support program.
Medication-Assisted Program for Philadelphians
NET Steps is designed to support folks with opioid use disorders. The program blends medication (typically methadone, Suboxone or Vivitrol) and intensive counseling in either an intensive outpatient (IOP) or general outpatient (OP) setting. NET Steps also gives clients other supports like health screenings, psychiatric services and referrals to medical services.
I appreciate that they have an on-site children’s playroom. This lets parents get the treatment they need that they might not otherwise seek because of family responsibilities.
The Patient Advocacy Committee
The Patient Advocacy Committee (PAC) is one of NET’s signature offerings. This program is made up of a small group of clients who are on MAT and act as peer advocates for all NET Steps patients. Their role includes delivering presentations on recovery-related topics to the community as well as patients.
They write a monthly newsletter, teach interview skills, help clients apply for grants or loans, find housing, and help clients get photo ID, social security cards and much more. They meet and greet new clients and can provide much-needed motivation and hope to people just beginning their recovery.
