About Moore Youth and Family Services Inc

Youth in Mooreland, Oklahoma can get help with a wide range of issues through Moore Youth and Family Services. They offer mental health treatment for ages 6-17 and outpatient substance use treatment for both youth and adults. The treatment can be free for anyone under age 18 and who meets their income eligibility requirements.

They also have school based services for prevention and intervention. These programs aren’t treatment but are supportive services for youth and their families. There is also an alternative school and services for those involved in the juvenile justice system, along with other services. In this light, I think it’s cool that they’re across the street from Fairemoor Park, which has a baseball field.

Free Outpatient Treatment for Youth in Mooreland

I’m thrilled that Moore Youth and Family Services offers such a wide range of services with so many of them being free. For example, they have free mental health care using multiple evidence based approaches for youth through age 17.

They offer outpatient addiction treatment services through traditional individual, group and family counseling. They also have peer recovery support. Those under age 18 can receive these services for free if they qualify, and adults can also receive treatment and will need to pay using insurance or other payment methods.

Services for Young People in the Juvenile Justice System

When youth have run-ins with the law, early intervention can help them understand the consequences of their actions and show them a different way to live. These services are also free.

The Positive Adolescent Social Skills (PASS) program is for young people at risk of being in the justice system and for first time offenders. PASS teaches teens skills to take positive control of their lives and helps them understand and resist peer pressure. Support is also provided for the parents and guardians to reinforce the new ideas.

The Community At Risk Services program (CARS) offers outpatient therapy to young people referred by the Juvenile Services Unit. The counseling and rehab services are designed to address underlying issues that might be causing problem behavior and to help young people make healthier choices.

This barely scratches the surface of the services Moore Youth and Family Services offers. I’m impressed with the counseling services for victims of abuse, neglect and bullying as well as the multiple programs that help young people transition into independent adulthood.
