About Mission Waco Manna House

Mission Waco Manna House is a faith based transitional housing and substance free residence that provides a comfortable space for men over 18 who are facing adverse scenarios in Waco, Texas.

This facility is specifically designed to serve as a solution for men facing homelessness, substance use disorders (SUDs) or other serious life events that might otherwise make it difficult to live successfully as an independent adult. This is a 12 month program that is centered on faith and helping men work towards building independence and self sufficiency.

Waco is a well known location in Texas that has plenty of recreational options including green spaces that can be a therapeutic complement to a more structured SUD treatment program. Manna House is in North Waco and is near several churches and community centers. Likewise, you can access Lake Waco and Koehne Park (along with many other city parks) which are perfect for relaxation and reflection.

A Long Term Residential Solution

For many people working to overcome addiction, structure is one of the key facets they need to rebuild. I noticed that Manna House offers a structured routine which includes life skills training, therapy, spiritual formation, work therapy, and peer support meetings. Likewise, mentorship and the shared residential responsibilities all serve to build purpose in a man’s life and help him focus on his sobriety.

An Emphasis on Brotherhood and Christian Faith

Manna House understands the importance of community which is why building brotherhood and lifelong bonds is a core goal here. Growing and improving among others in similar situations helps to build accountability as well as create lifelong friendships.

I think it’s excellent that Mission Waco Manna House doesn’t require traditional fees for participation. However, residents are required to participate in the work therapy to offset associated residential costs.
