MHSA Sullivan House

In the community of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, the Middlesex Human Services Agency provides a men’s recovery house. The Sullivan House is a residential addiction treatment program that provides treatment for substance use disorders. This program has a 25-bed capacity and residents usually stay for up to six months.

While staying here you’ll be given the clinical support needed to find employment, and establish family and community connections. When finishing the program, residents transition into a sober and stable living environment where they can continue to thrive as members of the community.

Intensive Recovery Services For Men

Sullivan House is considered long-term treatment because it lasts several months and focuses on sustained recovery and reintegration into society. It also serves as a transitional living situation for men moving from inpatient treatment to a more independent living environment. Programming is geared toward individuals with dual diagnosis mental health disorders.

Clinicians use evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy. You’ll learn to identify your triggers, change negative thoughts limiting your recovery and build relapse prevention tools.

Specialized Populations Gain Treatment Support

I like that this facility offers specialized treatment for groups like men with HIV/AIDS, trauma survivors, seniors, veterans and military families. LGBTQ+ men and court-referred individuals can also receive specialized care.
