About Tarrant Youth Recovery Campus
MHMRTC’s The Youth Recovery Campus in Fort Worth, Texas, provides residential and outpatient substance use and addiction treatment to youth ages 13 to 17. Your child's treatment will be based on an initial evaluation that determines the severity and intensity of the addiction and the needed treatment. Services might include group or individual counseling provided by licensed substance use counselors.
The outpatient program also includes parent education and family and family systems support. Substance use disorders don't just affect the individual but also affect their friends and family. Supporting the family and creating a more supportive environment for the child can help the recovery process. The outpatient program also supports the student's educational goals. They have English and Spanish speaking counselors and staff available.
The residential program houses 16 young men, aged 13 to 17. Most are referred by the juvenile justice system, truancy courts, or school districts. However, they also accept students who are self-referred or referred by their families. The average length of stay is approximately 45-60 days, during which your child undergoes an evidence-based curriculum that addresses anger management, relapse prevention, and a 12 Step program.
Other services provided in the residential treatment center include holistic approaches to care such as physical wellness, art classes, and experiential therapy. The center’s in a suburb, with not too many local attractions. But they can exercise at the onsite gym and work on life skills so that they’ll be ready to work when they graduate.
They accept private insurance or private pay as well as coverage through Medicaid. If you're uninsured, you may also qualify for sliding scale fees. They do not charge for crisis services.
