Metrocare Skillman Family Mental Health Clinic & Pharmacy

Metrocare’s Skillman Family Mental Health Clinic is located in Dallas, Texas. They provide a range of services to men and women who are struggling with substance use and mental health disorders. You’ll receive treatment in an outpatient setting with an intensive outpatient track (IOP) for more robust care. There’s also specialized programs for veterans through trauma-informed therapies.

Your recovery plan will be unique for your needs. For example, if you're navigating recovery from an alcohol or opioid use disorder, you'll have access to medication assisted treatment (MAT). This is offered through the intensive outpatient program to help manage withdrawals and ongoing cravings.

The IOP also offers ambulatory detox services. This is overseen by a licensed physician and registered nurse.

You’ll participate in counseling services provided by a licensed addiction counselor. You'll learn critical skills like how to identify triggers and how to manage stressful emotions. They’ll teach you how to build critical skills to empower you to build healthy habits during and after recovery.

There’s also psychoeducation and wrap-around care from a multidisciplinary team. There's group counseling so you can connect with other peers who are navigating similar struggles.

Veterans can join the Veterans Peer program. You’ll partner with another vet who’s been through recovery. They’ll guide you and provide a sympathetic shoulder when you need that extra bit of support.

You'll also have access to 12 Step programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. From start to finish, your care team will empower you to build the skills you need for sustainable sobriety.
