About Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a unique court associated treatment program for substance use in Gainesville, Florida. This residential program for adults focuses on helping participants complete multiple phases that take a total of six to 12 months. They treat moderate to severe substance use disorders as well as co-occurring mental health disorders.

Metamorphosis, which is often simply called “Meta,” provides care to those with complex needs who have recurrent run-ins with the law in their recent past. This facility offers very high intensity care so that these individuals can get safe and effective treatment.

The goal is to move clients from a socially maladaptive lifestyle into one that is pro social, productive and healthy. The exact amount of time someone spends in treatment is based on their goal achievement in each phase of the program. The staff also looks to see if the resident models appropriate behavior with fellow participants in the program.

Community Reintegration and Recovery Support

After residential treatment, clients can access transitional housing as well as other recovery support. The staff help clients create plans to get job training services, additional outpatient treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and to connect with peer support groups.

This support is designed to help clients transition into the community smoothly, find work and become independent and productive citizens. The stability of the aftercare program can help clients avoid reoffending as well.

Those living in the program’s transitional housing are expected to work and maintain a daily schedule that fits their specific needs. They can access aftercare services for an indefinite amount of time.
