About Meridell Achievement Center

Located in Liberty Hill, Texas, is the Meridell Achievement Center. This center supports boys and girls aged 10 to 17, helping them work through negative behaviors that have led to harmful and disruptive behaviors impacting not only their own lives but the lives of their families and loved ones.

Many of the children here have engaged in at-risk behaviors including substance use. I appreciate that along with addressing topics of substance use, their programming also addresses high-risk activities that can reinforce negative behaviors. This includes mental health struggles, traumatic experiences and other complex emotions.

Care is offered in a residential treatment center, and there are gender separated living spaces. I also appreciate that the care team here recognizes, respects and supports children who identify with an identity or sexual orientation different from what was assigned to them at birth.

Behavioral and Neurobehavioral Programs

This facility specializes in working with children who have disrupted behaviors that are out of their control (neurobehavioral). They also work with children who knowingly engage in controlled disruptive behaviors.

Beyond just treating symptoms of negative behaviors, this center provides a positive and supportive environment to help children develop healthy life skills to guide their lives. The facility itself is not a clinical environment at all. Rather, it’s very inviting and provides recreational and social activities where children can begin building healthy habits.

Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

The goals of cognitive behavioral therapy in Texas include evaluating thoughts and changing thinking patterns that are leading to substance use. This treatment helps participants understand their motives and problem-solve to work through challenges without the use of substances.

LGBTQ Friendly Rehab

Many gender-specific issues must be addressed during addiction recovery. Women’s rehab in Texas provides the appropriate support for women’s challenges such as body image, motherhood, and trauma.

Teen & Adolescent Program

The goal of a young adult program in Texas is to set young people free from the effects of addiction and give them the skills they need to successfully navigate early adulthood. This is accomplished with age-appropriate settings, therapies, and activities.

Levels of Care

Inpatient Rehab

Inpatient drug rehab in Texas can last from a few weeks to mor than 90 days. During that time, you live at the facility and receive round-the-clock supervised care. Treatment typically includes individual and group therapy.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

A dual diagnosis treatment center in Texas provides programs for people who struggle with both substance abuse and mental illness. Treating both disorders through an integrated approach is essential for recovery.
