About Mercy Family Center – Northshore
Mercy Family Center - NorthShore is an outpatient clinic in Mandeville, Louisiana. This behavioral health clinic provides children with assessments and treatment they need for ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and other childhood disorders. They also support families with many behavioral health treatments like counseling, group therapy, medication management, assessments, and substance use recovery.
This clinic has been around since 1992 and has three locations in the New Orleans area. The Mandeville location is located in a discrete brick building with an ample parking lot. This specific location primarily offers behavioral health services for youth.
If your teen needs higher intensity substance use treatment, they might be referred to another of Mercy’s locations. At this clinic, they also provide chronic illness and pain management, anxiety management, coping with affective mood disorders and educational and guidance services for students. These are all concerns that teens may be experiencing in addition to substance use.
What I'm most impressed about is that they offer free confidential evaluations for substance use disorders, psychiatric or behavioral concerns. They also have exams for gifted students and school entrance requirements.
If a youth is struggling with anxiety or chronic illness or pain, that can put them at a higher risk of substance use. Fortunately, the NorthShore clinic provides treatment for these issues in medically approved ways, helping youth get the relief they need without using unapproved substances.
I like the fact that through its broad network, Mercy’s substance abuse recovery services are for both adults and adolescents. Mercy has various programs including interventions and outpatient treatment. One of the perks of working with a large provider is that they can connect you with available resources in your area.
