Mental Health Resource Center Inc is a community mental health center in Jacksonville, Florida offering comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for adults, adolescents and children.

The facility on Beach Boulevard provides 24 hour emergency services, inpatient stabilization and outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment. I appreciate that clients often describe the medical staff as kind, patient and supportive.

What levels of care does MHRC offer?

MHRC provides emergency mental health services with crisis screening and assessments, adult inpatient stabilization for individuals age 18 and older experiencing mental health crises and a child and adolescent inpatient program for ages 17 and younger.

Outpatient services include a substance abuse screening, therapy sessions and psychiatric evaluations as well as medication management and care coordination.

Who can get help?

The center serves adults, adolescents and children experiencing mental health crises, co-occurring substance abuse disorders or serious and persistent mental illness. MHRC also operates specialized programs for individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through the LINK Program and the FACT program which supports adults with severe mental illness in community settings.

What treatment approaches are used?

Therapeutic approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, individual and group therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma therapy and life skills training. I noticed that services are provided in structured therapeutic environments with comprehensive assessments and discharge planning.

Where is the center located?

MHRC South is located on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville's Greater Arlington/Southside area, serving residents of Duval County east of the St. Johns River including the beaches.

What insurance is accepted?

The center accepts Medicaid, Medicare and most private insurance plans. Individuals without insurance who cannot afford standard rates may qualify for a reduced fee program based on financial need.
