Men of Valor

Men of Valor is a faith-based nonprofit reentry program serving men transitioning from incarceration in Tennessee, operating residential discipleship campuses in Nashville and Knoxville since 1997. The organization offers a 365-day structured program combining pre-release prison ministry with 12-month residential aftercare, addressing substance use disorders, mental health concerns and the practical challenges of reintegration.

Men of Valor's Christ-centered approach focuses on winning men to Jesus Christ and discipling them to reenter society as men of integrity. They have a proven track record of recidivism rates below 15% compared to Tennessee's approximately 50% state average.

Faith-Based Reentry and Addiction Treatment

Men of Valor specializes in helping men overcome addiction and rebuild their lives after incarceration through an integrated model that begins 10-12 months before their release. The program treats alcoholism, opioid addiction, substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues through residential treatment, individual therapy, group counseling and family support services.

Treatment combines mental health counseling to address trauma with biblical discipleship, one-on-one mentoring, accountability groups, and anger management sessions.

The first 30 days are structured with no off-campus privileges. All their basic needs are covered with intensive support to prevent early relapse or reoffending. I've found that the graduates describe unparalleled staff investment and life-changing brotherhood within the program.

Employment and Job Readiness Support

Men of Valor achieves a 100% employment rate for men completing 30 days through partnerships with 20+ employers willing to hire individuals with felony convictions.

Job readiness training, workforce development through an on-campus vegetable garden, and employer connections help participants secure stable work and long-term independence.

Affordable Care & No Program Fees for 30 days

Men of Valor is supported by donor contributions, grants, and state contracts, accepting Medicaid, Medicare, and self-payment with no program fees during the first 30 days.
