About The Medical Center of Southeast Texas

The Medical Center of Southeast Texas is a 204-bed acute care hospital in Port Arthur offering outpatient behavioral health and addiction services. Treatment is delivered by a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, therapists and specialized nurses. The hospital provides confidential assessments, individualized treatment planning and discharge planning to support lasting recovery.

Flexible Outpatient Programming

The Partial Hospitalization Program meets five days per week and includes group therapy, individual therapy, medication management, psychiatric evaluation, and social services. This structured level of care offers intensive support while allowing patients to return home each evening.

I found that clients in the program meet one to three days per week with the same core services at a reduced frequency. Both programs use individualized treatment planning, family therapy as needed, case management and educational services to address underlying issues and build coping skills.

Lunch and snacks are provided during program hours to support patient comfort and remove barriers to participation.

Hospital-Based Care With Medical Support

As part of a full-service hospital system, I appreciate that the Behavioral Health programs offer access to medical evaluations and broader healthcare resources when needed. The multidisciplinary team collaborates on psychiatric assessment, medication monitoring, and enrichment activities to deliver well-rounded care in a medically integrated setting.

The center is located in the Physician's Office Plaza offering convenient in-and-out access for patients.
