About McLean Fernside
McLean Fernside is a residential substance abuse and mental health treatment center. They’re situated on 15 acres of woodlands, lawns, and gardens in Princeton, Massachusetts. They house nine patients at a time in a charming renovated bed and breakfast. If you’re dealing with addiction, depression, anxiety or other mental health conditions, they can help. They answer the phone 24/7 to answer questions. They are a self-pay program that does not accept insurance or third party payments.
They cater to adults over 18 using clinical psychological treatments, medication evaluations and counseling. Clients can opt for 30 days or longer stays to suit their needs. They recommend at least 30 days to see the full benefit from the program. Group meetings are required, but this doesn’t mean you have to enroll in AA or 12 Steps.
Residents get their own private en-suite bathroom and daily meals. There's an onsite art studio, gym and plenty of hiking trails. You can smoke in designated areas, but e-cigarettes are not allowed.
Their program is intensive and runs 7 days a week. It focuses on relapse prevention and recovery. They specialize in helping people who have not had success with other treatments in the past as well as those who have co-occurring mental illnesses.
The Fernside treatment team is made out of registered nurses, board certified psychiatrist, psychologist, licensed social workers, expressive therapists and more. The staff is trained on addiction care to support patients and their families.
All Fernside patients have access to the ongoing alumni program. This helps clients transition from residential treatment. Alumni services begin before you leave residential care. You'll get up to two years of phone and virtual support, local and national alumni events, monthly meetings with team members and fellow alumni and individual consultation with the alumni coordinator as needed. The aftercare program is free of charge to support members in their ongoing recovery.
