About Maryville Des Plaines Campus Family Behavioral Health Clinic

Located in Des Plaines, Illinois, the Maryville Family Behavioral Health Clinic provides outpatient treatment to those with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation, they accept military insurance, Medicaid, other state financed health plans, and federal and government funding. Access to Recovery vouchers are also accepted.

Treatment for a Range of Patient Populations

Adults and seniors are treated here, as are children and adolescents with behavioral issues. They offer DUI/DWI programs and a court ordered anger management program, as well as special programs for survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. Veterans, active military personnel, and their families have a dedicated place at the facility, as do pregnant and postpartum women. I appreciate that they make members of the LGBTQ+ community feel welcome and included.

Trauma Informed Care

By emphasizing trauma informed care, they provide individual, group, family, and couples counseling. Comprehensive assessments and evaluations allow them to tailor treatment to a client’s individual needs. I found several different modalities employed in therapy, among them cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT). They also utilize motivational interviewing and 12 step facilitation. Aftercare and continuing care services are available as well.

Recreation and Community Involvement in Des Plaines

Des Plaines offers a variety of green spaces and community centered activities to support your outpatient therapy. Lake Opeka Park spans 60 acres, providing opportunities for recreation such as sailing, boating, and fishing in addition to its trails and golf course. The Des Plaines River Trail follows a meandering river through a peaceful oak-hickory forest.

The River Trail Nature Center offers education on the ecology and natural history of Northern Illinois, with scenic trails and nature oriented play areas. Prairie Lakes Park features volleyball and basketball courts, picnic spaces, and a walking path. It’s also part of the Prairie Lakes Complex, home to a community center for local integration and events.

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Private Rooms

In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Teen & Adolescent Program

Some of the most common services offered in a young adult program in Illinois include individual and group counseling, medication management, educational courses, and 12-step programs. These programs are tailored to address the challenges of this stage of life.

These services are frequently provided in the home and community to clients in crisis, those who are clinically unstable, and those who are unable or unwilling to travel to a hospital or clinic for in-person treatment.
