About LifeSkills

Located in Scottsville, Kentucky, is the LifeSkills Service Center. It’s right by Dugas Community Park. This organization helps adults overcome substance use disorders. There’s also a recovery program for expectant mothers. The Scottsville location offers care in an outpatient setting. There are also DUI, drug, and alcohol assessments offered here for court ordered purposes.

Before you come to the office, you can call to speak with a care representative beforehand. An evaluation can happen over the phone so that your initial appointment focuses on the way the care team here can help you.

Family Focused Support

I notice that one common aspect of their care is a strong focus on family support. This is unsurprising because having a strong family support system plays a critical role in your overall recovery journey.

A strong family system and positive relationships can help guide you and keep you on track with your recovery goals. Family support is offered through group counseling and is highly encouraged through the intensive outpatient program (IOP).

I also appreciate how addiction education is a priority for recovering individuals and their loved ones. Education workshops are offered through group and individual counseling sessions.

Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program

Sometimes recovery from an opioid use struggle is best supported with medication. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is offered as an effective way to help you manage cravings that might occur during recovery, especially during the early phases.
