About Life Help Mental Health Center

Life Help Region 6’s Community Mental Health Center is a state-certified provider of mental health support and substance use treatment throughout the Mississippi Delta region. Life Help’s network of 16 sites spans 16 counties. Their Leflore County Clinic is located in Greenwood, Mississippi, south of the Yazoo River Trail & Arboretum and the First Methodist Church of Greenwood.

The facility supports adults and adolescents through withdrawal management, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and general outpatient therapy. They also assist individuals involved in the criminal justice system and who have co-occurring mental health conditions. Most importantly, this Greenwood Office serves as a key access point to the full range of services offered across Life Help Region 6.

I appreciate that fees are based on a sliding scale tied to income and family size as this removes financial barriers. They also accept Medicaid, Medicare, and many private insurance plans, expanding access to care for individuals from all financial backgrounds.

Tailored Support For Long-Term Stability

At Life Help’s Leflore Clinic, clients benefit from tailored recovery services designed to help them break free from substance dependence and build lasting stability. This short process helps manage withdrawal.

Once stabilized, you transition into IOP to attend structured therapy sessions multiple times a week while maintaining your daily responsibilities. Staying engaged in daily routines like work or school while receiving focused counseling is what I appreciate most about this program. You’ll even have access to a recovery support specialist who’ll offer guidance to strengthen recovery and reduce relapse risk.

A specialized IOP is available for adolescents aged 12-18 with an emphasis on building self-confidence and resisting peer pressure via positive skills development, substance refusal training and relapse prevention techniques.

DUI assessments are offered for an additional fee to meet legal or court-related requirements.

Amenities

Private Rehab

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.

Residential Setting

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Art Therapy

Art and music are mediums that connect with our feelings, making them a great recovery tool during addiction treatment. Studies show that combining art/music and drug rehab can have a greater therapeutic impact than drug rehab alone, as you’re able to access parts of your brain and body that you may not have access to during traditional talk therapy. Benefits of art/music therapy include lowering stress and anxiety, promoting healthy neurochemicals, and providing stress relief.

Private Rooms

In order to maintain a sense of autonomy, many private rehab facilities offer clients the ability to choose their own private rooms. The privacy and personal space ensure that the recovery process is as comfortable as possible.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Teen & Adolescent Program

A young adult program in Mississippi provides amenities, therapies, and activities customized to individuals in their late teens and early twenties. Treatment addresses the patient as a whole, meeting social, educational, physical, and psychological needs.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy in Mississippi works well for short-term rehab programs because it is an action-focused, rapid treatment method. Participants learn coping techniques they can start using immediately to get results.

Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab

Elderly rehab in Mississippi often involves a variety of therapies. Individual, group, and family therapy are common. Treatment focuses on psychological, physical, and medical issues related to stage of life and substance abuse.

Rational Behavior Therapy (RBT)

According to rational emotive behavioral therapy in Mississippi, thoughts about an event, rather than the event itself, cause dysfunction. This treatment method attempts to correct irrational thoughts to help individuals make better choices for recovery.

Animal & Equine Therapy

Animal & equine therapy are evidence-based complementary therapies drawing on the emotional, psychological, and physiological benefits of regular contact with animals. Addiction recovery programs may incorporate the care of therapy dogs, cats, horses, and other animals into their treatment model to support clients’ development of recovery-focused life skills, including personal responsibility, time management, and empathy. Contact with therapy animals may reduce stress, enhance mood, decrease depression and anxiety, and increase clients’ self-esteem and sense of wellbeing.
