About Last Chance Recovery Center

Look just south of Magnum Manor Park in Houston, Texas, and you’ll find Last Chance Recovery Center. This is a sober living home for adult men in recovery from substance use disorder or who are actively in treatment. The 12 Step model is at the core of this location's services, and residents are required to attend meetings during their stay.

It’s also worth noting that the house is incredibly secure and uses 24 hour surveillance to keep residents and the property safe.

Building A Community

One thing I really like about this halfway house is that it includes structure to encourage community building. Clients are required to attend house meetings where they’ll voice concerns and find solutions to problems. Everyone has to chip in with maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the residence.

I see it as practice for the kind of supportive networking that people do during and after treatment with local support groups. Outdoor excursions to local attractions like T.C. Jester Park might even be doable.

Nutritional Support

Meals are included as part of the cost of this program, which is somewhat uncommon with sober living homes. The benefit of this (besides out of pocket costs for food for you) is that meals are prepared with nutrition in mind. The healthy meals provided by staff support both your physical and mental health, as well as your ongoing sobriety.
