About Lamoille County Mental Health Services

The nonprofit Lamoille County Mental Health Services is a community provider of co-occurring disorder and addiction care in Morrisville, Vermont. They pride themselves on delivering care in the community and through residential and outpatient programs. They have programs for all ages.

One thing I like about this location is they extend their support to everyday living. They'll help you develop skills you need to live independently, such as budgeting. Independent living goes a long way toward supporting recovery, so it's great to see this sort of help made available. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re by the Oxbow Riverfront Park, where you can unwind between sessions.

Supporting You During & After Emergencies

This location's crisis support services provide over the phone or face to face support. These allow you to get assessments and referrals to appropriate providers or screen you for hospital admission. All services lead to collaboratively planning your next steps so you don't come out of a crisis situation without a plan.

They also provide a residential crisis program called Oasis House in Hyde Park. Instead of you calling or meeting with the crisis team, Oasis House gives you a therapeutic place to stay during a crisis. You'll receive the same care and planning but in a safe and secure residential setting.

Individual Placement and Support for Recovery

There are many components to achieving stability. One is that you can support yourself. This clinic's Employment Support program can lend you a hand in getting a job that will promote independence and your ongoing sobriety.

The IPS model puts you in touch with specialists who provide education and training while helping you find and apply for jobs. What I like about this program is that the support is ongoing for as long as you want it. So if you find you need help during employment, you'll have someone on your side.

Personalized Case Management

The goal of a case manager is to help you meet your day to day needs so you don't regress. This ranges from tasks small like shopping for groceries to large, like keeping appointments, to reduce the chances of relapse. Though not necessary for everyone, a case manager can be a tremendous boon when you feel overwhelmed balancing treatment and recovery with daily living.

This location accepts Medicare and Medicaid, as well as some private insurance. They also offer a sliding fee scale to those who might not be able to afford care otherwise.
