About Lakes Region Recovery Center

Located in a scenic neighborhood of Bridgton, Maine, the Lakes Region Recovery Center provides support and a judgment-free environment for those in recovery and their loved ones. Supporting the rural communities of Maine, the center provides a safe and comfortable space for people with substance use issues to connect with their peers, meet with recovery coaches and attend a variety of groups and meetings. Plus, they also offer a recovery hotline where members can talk to a peer support specialist or recovery coach if they can't make it into the clinic in person.

Free Peer Support for All

The thing that stands out to me about the Lakes Region Recovery Center is that all services are free of charge. Members of the center (membership is also free) can meet with certified recovery coaches who will work with them to create a plan to achieve their personal recovery goals. Plus, members can drop into the center at any time to take advantage of the peer-to-peer support for an informal chat or attend any of the many support groups offered.

No-Cost Support Groups and Services

In addition to recovery coaching and peer-to-peer support, I think it’s great that the Lakes Region Recovery Center also offers various groups, meetings and classes, all of which are completely free. They include Narcan training, HIV and Hep C clinics, adult education, employment readiness groups, AA meetings, teen groups, wellness workshops and gender-specific groups.

Another stand out feature of the center is the variety of wellness and entertainment events they organize for members. These include mental health walks to show clients a glimpse of the fun that can be had without substances.

LGBTQ Friendly Rehab

Women’s rehab in Maine allows women in treatment to feel more comfortable and safer during treatment and achieve better recovery outcomes. This is due to the gender-specific treatment they receive and the peer connections they can form during treatment.

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT)

Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) is an integrative, community-based care strategy designed to address the needs of persons with severe and/or complex mental illness or behavioral disorders. ACT is typically provided by a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health care providers, social workers, therapists, and other specialists, including addiction recovery professionals. These services are frequently provided in the home and community to clients in crisis, those who are clinically unstable, and those who are unable or unwilling to travel to a hospital or clinic for in-person treatment.
