About Kwenyan Professional Health Services

Kwenyan Professional Health Services New Providence was an outpatient addiction treatment facility that provides substance use disorder (SUD) treatment in West Orange, New Jersey. They’re closed now, but this facility offered multiple outpatient programs that not only addressed substance abuse but other non-substance-related addictions such as gambling and internet use. West Orange is a bustling town that is an easy commute to New York City.

Popular attractions in the area include the Passaic River Park, Watchung Reservation, and Oakwood Park which are all perfect for outdoor excursions. For cultural immersion, the New Providence Memorial Library and Salt Box Museum are also excellent options.

Extensive Outpatient Support

One of the key factors I liked about Kwenyan is that this facility offered a wide range of outpatient services. Whether as a partial hospitalization program (PHP), intensive outpatient program (IOP) or standard outpatient care, there was a solution here to help motivated individuals who were focused on their recovery.

All outpatient programs were complemented with comprehensive counseling. This included cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), trauma related counseling, rational emotional behavioral therapy, 12 step, brief intervention approach, contingency management, motivational interviewing and the Matrix Model.

Providing Care for Special Groups

Along with providing general care to adults, there were specialized groups supported at Kwenyan. This included adolescents, people who had experienced trauma or sexual abuse and intimate partner violence, and people who were active or retired military and their families.

Additionally, this facility also accepted court or judicial system referrals. Kwenyan accepted insurance, state financed plans, Tricare, Medicaid, and self payment.
