If you’re leaving the airport, take a left onto Leilani Street. Kū Aloha is the blue two-story building where the road splits. Just pull into the parking lot on Leilani Street. They’re also surrounded by attractive natural landmarks like the Kalākaua Park, Liliʻuokalani Park and Gardens and the Hilo Bayfront Beach Park. These are all located within one mile of the facility.
You’ll enjoy a vibrant metro area and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the calmness of nature when convenient. This creates a balanced environment that may help your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Kū Aloha Ola Mau means “Stand lovingly and compassionately in everlasting life and health.” This reflects their roots in spirituality and holistic healing. They believe anyone can heal from substance use via a personalized approach. Their MAT program involves methadone or Suboxone and group and individual therapy to address your emotional triggers. Both short- and long-term detox and maintenance treatments are available. Telehealth is also available to make things more convenient.
They offer a culturally informed group treatment known as “Hui Ho`ola O Na Nahulu O Hawai`i.” This spirituality focused program blends traditional cultural healing practices, ceremonies and activities with evidence-based approaches to addiction recovery. Core Hawaiian values guide every aspect of the program from its leadership to the daily experiences of patients. The goal is to provide quality substance use treatment, education, and continuing care to help the patients in the long term.
The clinic also provides treatment support for adults and adolescents struggling with addiction other than opioids. This involves assessments, treatment planning and behavioral therapy. This program encourages you to be your best self in a nonjudgmental setting while empowering you with practical skills to cope with emotional roadblocks to prevent relapse.
Onsite medical services are provided, along with education on hepatitis, HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. They also offer health counseling, screening and testing for those infections. Vaccines for hepatitis A & B are provided. They offer medical case management as well.
Guest dosing service is available for people on methadone maintenance treatment. This can be beneficial if you wish to maintain your methadone dosing regimen while visiting Hawaii Island for business or vacation. Their wraparound services may involve connections to social work via care coordination to community resources. This includes stable housing, educational support and job placement. They can help with medical care and food stamps as well.
