About Komed Holman Health Center
The Komed Holman Health Center is located in the North Kenwood neighborhood, just under five miles south of downtown Chicago and near the southern shore of Lake Michigan. This clinic operates under the greater Near North Health system and provides evidence based care to adults, adolescents, and their families.
At the Komed Holman Health Center, you'll find behavioral healthcare to address any mental health conditions. There are also dedicated addiction recovery services if you're struggling with substance use disorders.
The treatment options take place in an outpatient setting. They accept policies from most major insurance providers including Medicaid. There are enrollment specialists who can help you apply for healthcare if you qualify.
Managed Care
At this dedicated medical facility, you'll find that approaches to treatment include both clinical services and specialized counseling support. There are primary care providers on site who take a big picture look at your health profile.
From there, you'll work with behavioral healthcare managers who focus on day-to-day services that address substance use. They can address grief, insomnia, and family trauma that might trigger a need to find solace in drugs.
Psychiatric Consultations
I find it helpful that there are no behavioral health conditions too complex to be addressed at Kormed. Your care team will bring in psychiatric consultants to address specialized health concerns you might be having. For example, if you have a co-occurring diagnosis like ADHD, depression, or bipolar disorder that are contributing to your substance use, these consultants help you get to the root causes of these triggers.
The treatments you receive here are clinical, but I also find it valuable that these services are intentionally person focused. The services address past experiences like domestic violence, stress, grief, and other layers that might have led you to substance use in the first place.
