About Keys Outpatient Behavioral Health
Keys has been treating clients with substance use and mental health disorders since 2007. The facility is located on West Saint Peter Street in New Iberia, Louisiana. The CARF accredited programs include an intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient clinical program for addiction. They offer further services such as an impaired professional program and treatment for Department of Transportation employees facing mental health and addiction challenges. I noted that staff will help eligible clients apply for Medicaid. They accept Medicaid and all other types of health insurance.
Accessing Outpatient Addiction Treatment in New Iberia, Louisiana
One of the things I like about the approach they take here is the mental health programs that partner with the substance use treatment program. Some of the additional programs include anger management, an anxiety and depression program, and a family therapy program.
They offer two anger management programs. There’s a 10 hour course that I think many clients will find helpful. The course teaches clients about the sources, complexities, and manifestations of anger and how it contributes to substance use. Clients learn how anger corrodes behavior and thoughts. Participants attend small group discussions and work on journaling exercises. They identify their anger style and learn healthier, more responsible ways of responding and handling their emotions.
The other anger program is a half day training class developed for organizations for educating and treating their employees. The program uses introspective and interactive techniques to learn about anger. The methods used in the program are effective and endorsed by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
The IOP substance use treatment program includes group therapy four times a week. The program is a minimum of six weeks though some clients extend the time to work around childcare, work, and school. They have morning and afternoon sessions.

Levels of Care
Detox in Louisiana rids your body of addictive substances. Over a period of about a week, you’ll receive 24/7 care to slowly and safely cleanse your body. This often includes receiving medication to alleviate withdrawal symptoms.
A typical Louisiana outpatient rehab offers a less-intensive treatment option. It is a good fit for those who have a moderate addiction and need accountability and ongoing relapse prevention support. Treatment includes therapy and support groups, and may continue to weeks or months, based on the individual’s needs.
When you have a mental health disorder, addiction treatment must look different than standard rehab. The program must address both your mental health and substance abuse disorders. Louisiana dual diagnosis treatment is designed to do just that.
