About Juneau Youth Services

Juneau Youth Services Raven’s Way Lighthouse provides high-level, long-term residential care for adolescents in Juneau, Alaska with treatment-resistant psychiatric, emotional, and/or behavioral disorders. They also offer specialized programming for clients with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.

Clients receive medical and mental health assessments, personalized care planning, and comprehensive case management. They also engage in intensive, trauma-informed individual, group, and family counseling. Their treatment programs are based on a behavioral modification approach and family teaching model and prioritize recovery-focused life skills training. Clients and families participate in training related to coping, self-care, communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, anger and stress management, and relapse prevention. Clients also cultivate independent living skills, receiving training in job readiness, budgeting and money management, and household maintenance. Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are developed in conjunction with licensed educators and the client’s care team to advance the clients’ academic and vocational goals. Their aftercare services are designed to ensure a complete continuum of care aligned with the client’s evolving needs and may include transitional support as clients step down into outpatient treatment, as well as referrals for medical, mental health, and social service programs.

They are licensed by the state of Alaska and accept IHS, Medicaid, and private insurance. Financial aid is available.
