JFCS of Southern New Jersey – Jewish Family & Children’s Service

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) of Southern New Jersey provides a variety of services in Camden County, including mental health and addiction treatment, disability services and assistance for families in need. This location on Springdale Road in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is their main office.

The clinic accepts Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. They may have payment options for those without coverage as well.

Outpatient Counseling Services for Mental Health and Addiction

Counseling services are available to all ages. They have individual, group and family therapy to address a variety of mental health issues as well as substance use disorder. JFCS also offers psychiatric medication as well as support groups for various life circumstances, like grief and chronic illness.

I noticed that the organization provides evidence based therapy for children and youth using age appropriate approaches, such as play therapy. They also have parenting classes and counseling to help family members learn healthy communication skills and conflict resolution.

JFCS has a specific program to support domestic violence victims as well. This program includes counseling, support groups, referrals to community resources and other assistance.

Youth Focused Prevention Programs

Along with their outpatient counseling for addiction recovery, JFCS has a substance use awareness and prevention program for adolescents. One Step at a Time talks about all substances young people encounter and encourages conversations about substance use between classmates and family members.

I like that JFCS also has programs that address issues related to suicide prevention, teen relationship and other mental health issues. These presentations are available to schools and any other organization that works with tweens and teens.
