About Jemez Health Clinic

Located at the edge of Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico, the Jemez Comprehensive Health Center Provides treatment to adolescents, children, and adults who are struggling with mental health conditions and substance abuse disorders. Since being established, their mission has been to make high-quality care accessible to individuals and their families within the Jemez community. You’ll benefit from having access to primary care, dental treatment, and transportation services.

The pueblo contains over 89,000 acres of land and is one of 19 pueblos in New Mexico, with over 3,400 tribal members. During your time off from receiving treatment, you can explore the outdoors alongside their surrounding of history, tradition, art and culture. Places like Jemez Hot Springs or the Jemez National Recreation area can be a great place for you to connect with nature, relax, and reflect on your recovery.

A unique feature about them is their screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) program. They work with providers to coordinate care and help you get the treatment most beneficial for you. It isn’t uncommon to have difficulties in other areas in your life when you’re experiencing co-occurring conditions. Tobacco use, PTSD, chronic diseases, and depression are some of the many areas they will assist you with to help you improve your quality of life and heal. The services included are brief interventions, screenings, and referrals to treatment. The Lovelace UNM Outpatient Rehabilitation is on the other side of this small town and can provide further assistance.

They offer acudetox services, education and prevention, psychological testing, psychiatric care, and a variety of other chemical dependency services. Receiving these services allows you to combat addiction and symptoms that can be causing instability in your day to day life especially your recovery.

What stands out to me the most is their supportive services that can help you achieve a life of abstinence from mood mind altering substance. They utilize the matrix model intensive outpatient (IOP) to help you heal from the harmful effects of addiction. They provide guidance on how to utilize healthier coping skills for when you experience triggers and need to manage stress to prevent a relapse. Withdrawals, discomfort, and consistent cravings can be discouraging and overwhelming. Their medication assisted treatment (MAT) program provides prescriptions and therapy to alleviate these symptoms.
