Jefferson Center for Mental Health—Adult Residential Recovery

Jefferson Center for Mental Health has an inpatient facility based in Lakewood, Colorado. They provide focused residential care for adults with complex emotional and behavioral needs. It’s designed for situations where outpatient therapy just wasn't enough and a more structured around-the-clock environment was needed. Appointments are made by referrals only.

What Care Looked Like Here

I saw that Jefferson Center’s high-intensity residential treatment allows adults to live onsite and receive a full mix of care. That means they get access to individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychiatric support, and medication management when needed.

But I really think that one of the biggest strengths was the 20 hours of weekly individual and group therapy programs. These approaches can address a mixture of trauma, addiction, and co-occurring disorders. They also incorporated experiential elements like outdoor activities, recreation and even hands-on programs that helped to build confidence and grow their life skills.

Beyond Jefferson Hills

The Jefferson Center provides a whole range of services that include programs absorbed from the original Jefferson Hills facility back in 2024. They expanded their programs to include child and family therapy, psychological assessments, onsite school-based support, and dual diagnosis for people who are navigating both substance abuse challenges and their mental health.

I really love that they have a very meaningful focus on prenatal care and substance use support. They offer counseling, education and treatment options that support both mom and baby.
