About Jamaica Family Wellness Center
Jamaica Family Wellness Center is an outpatient addiction treatment program in Queens, New York serving children and adolescents, adults and families affected by substance use disorders. Part of The Child Center of NY, the center provides integrated behavioral health care that combines substance use treatment, mental health counseling and primary care services at one convenient Jamaica Avenue location.
With a focus on family centered and culturally responsive care, the center offers evidence based therapies and medication assisted treatment to support long term recovery.
Outpatient Addiction Treatment
Clients begin with an assessment to determine the right level of outpatient care for their needs. From there, individuals and families can access individual counseling, group therapy and family counseling sessions that address both substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Treatment includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma focused groups and relapse prevention planning. Medication assisted treatment is available with buprenorphine, naltrexone and acamprosate, alongside psychiatric evaluations and medication management. I think it's valuable that the center also provides recovery support such as naloxone education and housing assistance, employment counseling and discharge planning to help clients rebuild stability.
