About Jackson County Hospital
Jackson County Hospital (known as Jackson County Hospital District) is in Edna, Texas, a rural community in Jackson County between and south of both San Antonio and Houston. The hospital doesn’t have a dedicated mental health or addiction treatment unit, but there's a specialty clinic that provides mental health services.
Additionally, there’s a 24/7 emergency room (ER) where clients in a mental health or substance related crisis may be stabilized and begin treatment. Clients may be started on medication assisted treatment (MAT) if appropriate for opioid withdrawal. The hospital accepts Medicaid and Medicare.
Wellness Center
The hospital provides a wellness center, which I think may be useful for individuals in recovery. The center provides exercise classes, personal trainers, weight machines, and a pool for a monthly or annual fee via their HERO memberships. The fee is only $15/month for seniors over 65 and those in public service or the military.
Specialty Clinic
I noticed that in addition to mental health services, the specialty clinic provides many other services. These services include cardiology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology. All services include lab and imaging services.
