About Interim House – Closed

Interim House was a non profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that provided substance use and mental health services to women. For the past fifty years, it set a strong example of innovative treatment and received positive feedback from clients. Staff members believed in approaching care through a trauma informed lens and centering the client in every way.

The center was also conveniently located close to Wissahickon Valley Park which could provide clients with a respite out in nature to walk trails and explore the woodland. I think this was a good way to spend time in a scenic healing environment alongside friends and family.

Residential Community in Philadelphia

Interim House offered a residential program that housed twenty five women struggling with substance use and mental health challenges. The facility was a comfortable and safe space, promoting a community environment.

The program also included an on site daycare for mothers in recovery. I think this was a beneficial resource to remove the stress of mothers having to find outside accommodations for their children.

Outpatient Treatment For Ongoing Recovery

There were outpatient services offered at Interim House including both general and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). The programs included a mixture of individual, group and family counseling, taking an evidence based approach through utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

In addition to therapy, there were also services like medication management, relapse prevention and holistic wellness activities. After receiving care, Interim House also provided individuals with aftercare services and community resources to promote a long term recovery.
