About IMPOWER
IMPOWER is a nonprofit organization that offers mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs for families, adults, children, and adolescents. The outpatient treatment is via Telehealth. The main office is on North Ronald Reagan Boulevard in Longwood, Florida.
The program accepts some commercial insurance and most of the Florida Medicaid plans. There are some grants available, so if you’re uninsured, be sure to ask about other options.
Bilingual Telehealth Substance Use and Mental Health Services in Longwood
One benefit of the outpatient Telehealth program I think clients will like is the bilingual services. You can receive treatment for substance use and mental health disorders from the comfort and privacy of your own home in the language that works best for you. Telehealth visits allow for flexible scheduling including weekend and evening sessions. You won’t need to worry about missing school or work to attend therapy.
They offer individual and family therapy, medication management, assessments, and psychiatric evaluations. If you need a prescription, the provider will send it electronically or through mail order.
Juvenile Drug Court Partners in Seminole County
Another nice service I noticed they provide is the Drug Court Program through its partnership with the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit. The program is for eligible juveniles and adults. This is a diversion program that integrates substance use treatment providers, judges, and the criminal justice system to assist nonviolent offenders in getting treatment and becoming productive community members.
Getting the Referrals You Need in Florida
If clients need more intensive treatment, they can get the referrals they need from the staff at the Longwood location. IMPOWER has an inpatient adolescent treatment center, The Grove, for youths ages 13-17.
During inpatient treatment, teens participate in group therapy five days per week. They have individual therapy at least once a week and family therapy as appropriate. Teens attend Florida Virtual School while in treatment. All Florida schools accept any credits earned while in the virtual school program. Clients have access to peer support services and attend 12 Step meetings in the evenings. They’ll learn life skills that include healthy eating, budgeting, and how to interview for a job.
Addiction Treatment Programs
Adult Program
Treatment at an adult program in Florida addresses the needs of each individual as they work toward recovery. Programs are designed for men and women ages 18 and up, and include a variety of treatment protocols to match the severity of the addiction, type of substance, and personal situation.Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida helps people in treatment to revisit painful thoughts and memories and learn new ways to cope with them. These newly-learned techniques replace substance use and help the individual maintain sobriety.Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab
If you're over the age of 65, elderly rehab in Florida gives you the opportunity to be in a treatment program with your peers. This tends to be helpful for older adults because they can receive mutual support and acceptance from their peers. These programs are specifically designed for seniors.Teen & Adolescent Program
Young adults often develop addiction for different reasons than older individuals. That’s why a young adult program in Florida focuses on the unique pressures, needs, and challenges faced by young adults.Levels of Care
